Back in middle school I was a student of Ms. Pettis, during that year I found out that she was associated with the same denomination as I was. At the time I really didn’t understand. Many years later we walked into a church in Nashville, Daniel had been attending on Wednesdays. There she was sitting in the pew. I was surprised because those channels of my life crossed in a instance. This began the revival of an already great friendship. We kept in touch with that church as long as we lived in Nashville. Another several years passed and as we were fundraising to go to Japan we visited this church. Since then they have been praying and supporting our ministry in Japan. Even extra support as her husband helps a lot with our website in Japan. We could not do what we do without many of you and this is just one example of how seeing many of you is such an encouragement to us.
We had supper with their family and our kids enjoyed new friendships with there kids. We even shared some of our favorite Japanese snacks where later on she said “In honor of Valentines Day and your coming to Immanuel next week, we shared our strawberry stick snack (pocky) with the kids at church. I think it was a hit. We shared the grape drink with friends!”
